Private Equity in CEE: Creating Value and Continued Growth

Published statistics capture the success stories of companies in Central and Eastern Europe and highlight the region's strategies and opportunities. The publication contains 22 successful investments in private equity and venture capital in the mentioned region from 2015-2019. The aim is to highlight the opportunities for private equity and venture capital that exist in the region.

Evaluation of Central and Eastern Europe

Between 2003 and 2019, almost € 29 billion was invested in 4,300 companies in the sector. These companies play an important role in providing invaluable know-how, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises.

Emphasis on ESG

CEE has a long history built on ESG processes. Each of the studies presented so far shows how managers at CEE create job opportunities in addition to caring for their portfolios. In 2018, private equity-backed companies increased their employment by 10.7% year-on-year to more than 316,000.

Current status

The pandemic continues to affect business worldwide and creates the potential to accelerate trends in digitization, which were also presented in the next section in the attached study from investing to the exit of interesting companies.
